Well the time is almost upon us. In less than 6 hours the United States will inaugurate its first African-American President.
Obama takes the oath with massive good will on his side. Never in my life have a seen this kind of excitement.
Never in my life have a witnessed our media being so in "the tank" for one candidate. Objectivity has flown out the window and been replaced by a bias that frightens me.
Objective journalism died in 2008 and no one will hold Obama's feet to the fire to see if he can fulfill all his promises.
I wish Obama all the luck as he sets on his course of leading us in a new direction.
I will be watching with interest this administration and will not hesitate to hold his feet to the fire when necessary.
It is a tough climate to assume office in and my thoughts and prayers are with him.

I too wish Obama the best of luck and May The Force Be With Him, yet, I think he'd want us to hold him accountable should something happen in his term as President. One minister of a church in California told his congregation to not let the excitement overwhelm them to the point of not wanting to hold him accountable. Also, it makes me cringe when I see people waving any flag like maniacs.

It's going to be a nice change for this country and I'm sure that he'll be able to help us get back on track.

I wish him luck as well. I hope we see the change we all so desperately need right now! A tought road ahead no matter who ended up in office but I do think having so many people on your side might help matters along!

All work stopped at Noon except for me. I kept working. LOL. I can catch it all tonight. Almeda, I too am very uncomfortable with this type of flag waving which seems almost insane. Hope and change are easy to shout and cheer about, lots harder to actually acomplish.

Change is hard to accomplish when anyone gets caught up in the moment. It's not just the flag waving that makes me uncomfortable, it's also blindly and unthinkingly supporting anybody.

I know I have said it before, not matter what happens there will be those that will hold Obama on a pedestal and those who will keep him in the gutter. That being said now that the "hoopla" is over, let's let change begin with a new regime with the entire government.

Sadly most of Obama's inner circle are Clinton re-runs. Not sure that is hope or change but those who know me, know I favor much less govt.
I would hope to see a return to more inovation from the private sector. BUT it is an exciting time for many.

I am cautiously optimistic that we can rebound and climb out of the recession.

we will. We have to work from the top down though, that means our CEO's need to be held accountable!

and so does the govt. Throwing more money at something fixes nothing.
Govt needs to get out of the way and let the free markets work. Capitalism works. Socialism is expensive and has no guaranteed results other than higher taxes.

well I think we just got to a greedy time in our society. Whether or not the government had anything to do with it I don't know.
