I second that. No more golden parachutes for CEOS is basically what Obama said.

I heard on the news this morning that one of the companies that had gotten alot from the govt for bailouts is vowing to repay the money this year. Maybe now that they can't give the execs big money more companies will be fiscally responsible.

As a capitalist, I have no problem with success or even extreme wealth. What I do have a problem with is living beyond one's means. If a company does that and comes crawlin for help they need to pay the piper. If ya want to keep those big salaries..fine..just don't run your company into the ground so that taxpayers including me, have to pay for it.
I'm mad as hell about paying taxes to begin with now I gotta pay for your crap? Better hope I don't catch any of you guys on a dark street. LOL

I am certainly not against making as much money as you can, I have worked my butt off to do what I want and have what I want. Granted I am not rich but I've done OK. Now because the economy isn't great I lose money while my CEO lives high on the hog...I forget, who's business practices made us lose money? I can't remember if they took my ideas or now lol

Things aren't going to get better for a long time and the forgotten man/woman like you or me will pay the price for this mess.
The whole big tax cut promised in this stimulus package is 13 bucks a week the first year and 8 dollars aweek the second. That helps no one.

Jail time for those who were involved in enhanced interrogation techniques (torture) is also in order. An investigation is in order also.

Well I won't argue that. As I said before we need to entice people to actually BUY things to stimulate the economy. Things aren't going to get better for a long time and the forgotten man/woman like you or me will pay the price for this mess. The whole big tax cut promised in this stimulus package is 13 bucks a week the first year and 8 dollars aweek the second. That helps no one.

and on 13 bucks a week or 52 extra bucks a month what can you buy that will help anyone?
Almeda, I agree. If the laws were broken then a punishment needs to be enacted for the crime. I have often wondered shy FDR was never crticized or brought up on chargesa for locking up all the Japanese Americans in WW11. This was a shameful violation of those citizens civil rights and most lost all they had worked for as loyal Americans. It is a subject that no one ever seemed to want to touch or even mention. I want justice for all who were tortured or killed or unlawfully imprisoned. Not just the ones the left wingers think should pay a price.

I still think they need more money for infastructure projects suchs as bridges and roads. Our inner belt bridge thru downtown is crumbling. Fund that repair and put people to work now. Don't just give me a paltry 13 bucks aweek.

I agree $13 won't do much but you know me, the optimist. I am keeping the faith here that change is on the horizon, I didn't expect it to be overnight!

I know Minnesota needs its bridges and roads repaired as well, keeping in mind that the bridge in Minneapolis collapsed two years ago.
