Law & Order: SVU Scoop: 'Bar' Girl Melissa Sagemiller Is New ADAby Michael Ausiello Sept. 10th, 2010 ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/09/10/law-order-svu-melissa-sagemiller-is-new-ada/Paula Patton’s recurring gig as Law & Order: SVU‘s new assistant district attorney has turned into a mission: impossible. The Precious costar—who was tapped to play “charming and savvy” ADA Mikka Von—recently landed the female lead in M:I–4. As a result, her SVU stint has been cut down to just one episode. That’s good news for Melissa Sagemiller. The actress—who cut her teeth in the legal profession on TNT’s short-lived drama Raising the Bar—has been brought in to fill the ADA void. Specifics on her character have not been made available, but she’s slated to first appear in November. Thoughts?

Here is an update to the new ADA who is replacing Patton. www.tvguide.com/News/SVU-Producer-Neal-1022845.aspxSVU Producer Neal Baer Explains ADA ShakeupSep 10, 2010 04:46 PM ET by Ileane Rudolph How did Melissa Sagemiller come to replace Paula Patton as the new ADA on Law & Order: SVU? TV Guide Magazine got the scoop from showrunner Neal Baer. "Right before Paula started her first episode — which she's shooting right now — she was offered a test for Mission: Impossible: 4," says Baer. "We had a contract, but I don't want to stand in someone's career path if they're going to be in a huge feature film with Tom Cruise. So when she got that role, we recast ours." Sagemiller was on his radar since he had "compiled a huge disc of performances" from actresses he was considering for the ADA role before Patton won it. "So we went back to someone we had liked already and that was Melissa Sagemiller," the producer says. Luckily for him, the actress (Raising the Bar, Sleeper Cell) was available since her pilot, the Rockford Files remake, had crashed and burned. Sagemiller makes her first appearance on October 20 and plays Gillian Hardwicke, "a Brooklyn ADA who wanted to come to SVU because she greatly admires Benson and Stabler" and has "got an amazing track record in solving cases," Baer says. As for Patton's Mikka Von, expect her to go out in a big way.

Keck's Exclusives: Law & Order: SVU Adds a Mad Man and a True Blood Brother www.tvguide.com/News/Kecks-Exclusives-Law-1023031.aspxSep 14, 2010 05:26 PM ET by William Keck With both their shows on hiatus (True Blood's finale aired Sunday and Mad Men's season ender airs October 17), two actors have signed on to be victimized in a truly terrifying episode of NBC's Law & Order: SVU. Michael Gladis (whose Paul Kinsey has been MIA during Mad Men this season) and Kevin Alejandro (True Blood's Jesus) will play two of a trio of rape victims. "They have been branded and sodomized by someone," reveals executive producer Neal Baer, who says the show poses the questions, "is there a connection between these men, and what nut case is on the loose?" Suddenly the terrors of Bon Temps and the Sterling Cooper Draper Price ad agency don't seem so bad. This episode, the sixth of SVU's new season, also marks the debut of Melissa Sagemiller as the new assistant district attorney, taking the place of exiting Paula Patton. Talk about trial by fire...

Exclusive: A First Look at the New SVU Headquarters
Sep 22, 2010 01:56 PM ET by Mickey O'Connor On the fourth episode of Law & Order: SVU, a flood will render the show's 16th Precinct all but unusable — hence the title of the fifth episode: "Wet." While they wait for their new, drier digs to be ready, Benson and Stabler will work out of a mobile command center, which will be parked on the streets of New York. Associate producer Mike Ciliento gives us a tour of the cozy new space. Video clip follows www.tvguide.com/News/Exclusive-SVU-Headquarters-1023420.aspx
