Production Blog was updated Jan. 21st. www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/By SVUMac on January 21, 2010 9:52 AM HEY! If you haven't heard the big news, SVU will be returning to 10pm after the Winter Olympics are over. However, we are staying on Wednesday (not back to Tuesday). So tell all your friends! Also, if you have a few minutes, check out this article written by our showrunner Neal Baer on "How 'SVU' Predicts the Future." Today I wanted to take you behind the scenes to the Graphics Department. Often during the show we refer to the "Ledger" which is our version of a NY newspaper. Courtesy of Dylan and Dan in graphics, here are some shots of those papers. Why don't you tell me what shows these covers are from? 3 covers of "The Ledger" follow.1.Anyone guess what episode this was from? Notice the detail in that our writers also write the snippet on the cover that is usually never seen/read on camera. Yes that is a young Stabler. Graphics photoshopped his head on a cop's body. The "younger" Christopher Meloni photo we used was provided for us by his mom! Do you recognize the other actor's head we photoshopped as well? 2.What episode is this one from? Hint: Fin was pushing to have a girl from his case on the cover and the next day when he gets the paper Koko the Panda was on the cover instead. Any guesses? 3.Last one, what episode? Hint: It's not from this season and the girl (who went to the Morewood School) killed another girl by stabbing her with some form of writing utensil on the Staten Island Ferry. Hit me up with your guess!

Production Blog was updated Feb.4th. Answers to the questions on the last blog regarding "The Ledger" covers are answered. Nikki was right, of course! Hey Now! By SVUMac on February 4, 2010 6:16 PM Answers to the Ledger covers: Solitary, Anchor, and Hothouse. Seems like you all knew them without even needing the hints. Next time I'll be sure to make it harder. Getting to some of your comments/questions: Crazywomanjen said: Enough with the pre-emption and repeats! The Olympics are coming soon enough, so why deprive us of new SVUs in the meantime??? I hear you, but just think: after the Olympics are over you'll have brand new episodes of SVU all the way through mid-May! Maybe you'll even get TWO new episodes in one night (wink wink)... Cutipie117994 asked: Do the characters like Elliot or Olivia (or the rest of the cast) have birthdays? If so, is it the actors' actual b-day or just some random day of the year? They do have birthdays in their character arcs. However, since I've been here we haven't addressed them in the show really (other than a mention of their age here and there). The dates are not the actors' real birthdays. I'll leave you with some insider news: We are currently shooting episode #16 where we say goodbye (for hopefully not too long) to one of our characters. Any guesses??? Lastly: Mariska Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation is working to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. Help them secure a $250,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to help those impacted by violence and abuse. That's my guess also since Sharon Stone is playing the ADA in the last 4 episodes. If not than maybe Huang. He unfortunately hasn't been used much this season.
