VH1 Classic to Celebrate Comedy Icons on New Series May 25, 2009 by Stage Time Magazine VH1 Classic will step back in time with 60’s week kicking off Monday, August 10th with the week long premiere of the Roc Doc: Lords of the Revolution. VH1 Classic will air the five-part one-hour series Lords of the Revolution, a new documentary series narrated by Richard Belzer. The series celebrates the counterculture icons of the ’60s and ’70s such as Cheech and Chong, Andy Warhol, Timothy Leary, The Black Panthers and Muhammad Ali — who defied the social, political and cultural mores of their time.

Yes he was. He went on a huge hunger strike at one point, I believe.

Well, the documentary Belz is narrating might just be the show I'd like to watch. Funny thing, the three Olympians who raised their fists in protest of the Vietnam War,while standing on the podium were featured in a show on Al-Jazeera's English-language channel and callers from my neck of the woods - the Middle East - wanted to know and discuss athletes who protested the war.
