NBC Cancels Law & Orderwww.tvguidemagazine.com/news/nbc-cancels-law-order-5050.htmlNBC Cancels Law & Order May 13, 2010 04:21 PM EST NBC has canceled the long-running TV crime drama Law & Order after 20 seasons, TV Guide Magazine has confirmed. The 20th season ties the record for longest running prime time drama in US history with Gunsmoke. The renewal deal was hinging on a commitment with Turner to rerun the program on TNT, and it did not make financial sense for NBC/Universal to continue the series without a new deal with Turner. However, NBC is expected to announce the pickup of a new L&O spin-off series Law & Order: Los Angeles for their Fall 2010 schedule.

Well I am not surprised that it has been cancelled. I think Wolf wanted to break Gunsmokes record but settled for a tie.
There are enough reruns to keep us in Law and Order heaven for years..

Yeah! LOL! I'm still sad about its cancellation, though. Someone I attended A.C.S. Amman with is taking the news really hard.

I know there are many fans who came to the show later than I did are really devastated. I stopped watching the show when Jesse Martin joined the show. He was a pretty face but lacked the chemistry that Noth and Bratt had with Orbach IMO..I had had it with the changes.

I got used to the changes, kind of like when you get used to Facebook changing its look every few months. LOL! Funny thing, I wasn't too crazy about Dennis Farina's character, Joe Fontana, in Seasons 15 and 16 of the show, either.

Is L&O Really Dead? 'Law & Order' Creator Still Looking to Bring Original BackBy BILL CARTER May 17, 2010, 3:13 pm mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/17/law-order-creator-still-looking-to-bring-original-back/?src=buslnIs “Law & Order” really dead? Not if its creator, Dick Wolf, can help it. Mr. Wolf said after Monday’s NBC upfront presentation that he is out seeking “other offers” for his 20-year-old, New York-based franchise, which NBC canceled this week. Mr. Wolf has long aimed to see his signature police and legal procedural surpass the classic western “Gunsmoke” as television’s longest-running primetime drama. NBC’s decision left the two shows in a tie for that record. Mr. Wolf was known to be negotiating as hard as he could to try to convince NBC to extend the show for another year. Monday he said he was not giving up but did not specify where he is hoping to place the series. But Mr. Wolf did say that another potential plan – one that would have wrapped up the flagship “Law & Order” with a two-hour movie on NBC, is on hold until he exhausts every other opportunity to keep the show going as a weekly series.
