I agree! Elliot is no saint so to speak but this job doesn't stop for personal reasons and if it was their kid who had something happen they would not want a detective stopping work to call his family or go home.

True, but what happens if that person you marry turns out to be abusive in some ways, although not necessarily physically?

Right, not all people who work in law enforcement necessarily go home and take the stress of their jobs out on their families.

My grandfather was a cop, and I don't know much about his parenting other than he would scream at my Dad and his siblings, and he and my grandmother has problems with the kids. One of my uncles was killed by a drunk driver when my Dad was 16, I think, and my other uncle had some sort of illness where he's been in a wheelchair all his life.

The life of a cop is very difficult for sure.

No argument there. Just ask my cous who's a state trooper. He has a family now, but I agree that it's not a glamorous job and that state troopers risk their lives every day to rescue people and working on all kinds of cases.

State Troopers and Policemen never know what they may be walking into.

that is why a law enforcement officer's marriage partner needs to realise this and in this Kathy has fallen way short many times.
