The Giants win the NL West! The Reds also won the NL Central and the Nationals have clinched a spot in the playoffs. They are leading the NL East.

Last day of the regular Season. Rangers and A's are tied for the AL West. There will be a 1 game showdown tonight. Winner wins the AL West. Loser still gets a Wild Card spot. Yankees are 1 game up on the Orioles for the AL East. If they win tonight they are the AL East winner. The Orioles will still be a Wild Card. If the Orioles win and the Yankees lose they will be tied and there will be a 1 game playoff. The Yankees play the Red Sox and the Orioles play the Rays. They have both split the first 2 games in their 3 game series. All other spots have been determined. Only thing that hasn't been determined is who has home field advantage. The Nationals and Reds are tied with the best records.
Other teams in the playoffs
NL Wildcards: Braves & Cardinals NL West: Giants
AL Central: Tigers

The Pirates have been going down and down and down since that one game that tied for the longest regular season game of 19 innings...its a shame because we were actually doing not too shabby even after the All-Star game which that is usually the week we die in

Thanks for updating us on the stats rambabe. Since my team fell apart I may root for a national league team this year.

Well the Playoffs got off to a bad start with the NL WildCard Game. I do not like the new format which is a 1 game winner take all game with the winner advancing to the Divisional Finals. The game between the Cardinals & Braves is a perfect example of why a 1 game playoff is wrong. The Cardinals defeated the Braves 6-3 but that was only secondary to the disputed Infield-Fly call that went against the Braves and the ensuing bedlam that followed. "Fans" threw stuff from the stands onto the field and caused a considerable delay in the game. I think the Cards would have won the game regardless but that's beside the point. This was a terrible way for Chipper Jones to end his career.
In the AL Wild Card game the Orioles defeated the Rangers 5-1.
In yesterday's games both of my teams lost. The Reds defeated the Giants 5-2 and the Tigers defeated the A's 3-1.

The A's and the Giant's both lost again in their 2nd games. A's lost to the Tigers 5-4 and the Giants loss to the Reds 9-0. It will be especially tough for the Giants as they go on the road for the next 3 games.
The Cardinals and Nationals split their 1st 2 games as did the Yankees and Orioles.
Nationals won the 1st game 3-2;Cards won the 2nd 12-4 Yankees won the 1st game 7-2; Orioles won the 2nd 3-2
