I watched Ann Curry's interview with Nadya Suleman, also, and Ann asked a really good, albeit tough, question: How do your six other kids feel about your having eight more children? Don't they get a say in it?

My thoughts as well. There is no way to give the equal amount of attention that each child needs. Just watching Ava today was exhausting, image that there were 14 two-year-old Ava's? Makes me ache just thinking that.

I agree. This whole thing is just a huge mess and the tax payers are picking up the tab.

At the other end of the spectrum is Andrea Yates. Remember her? Her doctor told her husband that she shouldn't have any more babies, but her husband wouldn't listen, plus I remember hearing that she suffered from post partum depression.

Oh, yes. I remember her and I remember when I first heard about it. I was sitting in my mother's car while she went into the store for a moment. I was...in seventh grade at that time. I was highly upset by it all and still am to this day. She defiantly had PPD and didn't get help for it.
Makes me wonder about my cousin's wife's family. She's the eldest of ten and the mother wants more and to be pregnant at the same time her daughter is as well. Last time I heard, the father was sleeping in a different building at night, just in case, as he didn't want any more. Well, there's an easy solution to that; snip snip.

something that will never happen but pro-creation should be controlled. Some people should not be allowed to have children or more than so many. I don't want kids so I didn't have any. Not a tough solution.

I agree. I feel that anyone who is on public assistance as a way of life should not increase their take by having more children to collect benefits for.

That is why marriage and kids just aren't for me. It's just the way I feel about it.

I love kids, but I'll be growing old with my dogs and guinea pigs.

I love kids, too, but starting a family isn't for me now.

and you are wise. Being a mother isn't for everyone and this woman's reason for being one is just plain over the top.

And, I think, selfish. Are her six older kids old enough to look after their octuplet siblings yet? Just curious.
